Snap a photo of your Arabic textbook or classwork from today. Hakawi helps you understand your Arabic lessons, in English. Learn the language and the lesson, be it math, science or Islamic studies.
Request an InviteA classroom teacher can't stop mid-lesson to re-explain one idea five different ways while thirty other kids wait. A human tutor can, for a while — but their patience runs out too, and so does their stock of examples. Hakawi doesn't run out of either: ask the same question again and get a genuinely different explanation, in Arabic and English, for as long as it takes to land.
Who It's For
Classes move at grade-level Arabic while home runs in English, and the gap grows every week nobody catches it. Hakawi re-explains tonight's actual homework as many ways as it takes, so you're not the one translating it.
Even strong Arabic doesn't make classical fus-ha easy. Hakawi walks through the actual ayah, hadith, or classical text assigned this week until the meaning is your child's own, not your best paraphrase of it.
What's due tomorrow, or on Thursday's test, gets explained until it clicks — not handed over as a finished answer to copy down and turn in.
Stuck between a dialect app for ordering coffee and a grammar-first track that puts off real texts for years? Hakawi breaks down the actual classical text in front of you — like Al-Usul al-Thalatha — instead of years of drills before you're allowed to touch one.
How It Works
No new curriculum to learn — it works with whatever page is due tonight.
STEP 1
Photograph tonight's textbook page — no typing, no searching for the right chapter.
STEP 2
Read aloud and translated line by line, at a speed and voice your child picks themselves.
STEP 3
A wrong answer gets a guiding question first — never just the answer handed over.
STEP 4
Streaks, XP, and a weekly report of which topics are strong and which still need practice.
What Makes Hakawi Different
It doesn't replace the class, the curriculum, or the book — it fills the gaps so your child gets through today's actual lesson.
Confused mid-lesson? Your child can just ask — not just during the quiz, the whole session. Hakawi is trained to teach a concept, walking through it step by step, not just hand back an answer.
Not locked to one program. Snap a page from whatever your child is actually studying — any subject, any grade, any curriculum — and Hakawi reads and teaches straight from it.
Translate the textbook, read the translation instead of the lesson, drop the homework into a chatbot for an answer to copy back — that's not studying, it's routing around the problem. Hakawi replaces the hopping with one continuous tutor that teaches the subject and the language at the same time.
Why We Built This
“I found myself translating each Arabic word and sentence for my kids, even as I was trying to explain probability.”

Sharene LeeFounder of Hakawi, mother of 7
I have 7 children, 5 of whom are still K-12. We live in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Over the years, my kids have either been homeschooled or attended online schools. Arabic fluency has always been a goal for me because we are Muslims and we live in the Gulf. However, I'm nowhere close to being proficient with Arabic so I've never been able to teach it to them. My older kids learned by themselves because they were forced to, but the younger kids never had to because their older siblings were always there to translate.
Last year, we decided that the best way for our younger kids to get up to speed with Arabic was to enter them into an Arabic-medium school. It was a difficult transition to say the least. Not only were they learning math and science and other subjects for the first time, they were learning them in Arabic, a language they struggled in. I expected this of course, and the goal was to put the kids in an Arabic-immersive environment. However, I found myself having to sit with my younger kids translating and explaining each Arabic word and sentence to them, even as I was trying to explain probability. I couldn't help the middle and high schoolers at all.
I'm a tech founder who's built two startups to date. So I'm doing what I do best. Hakawi is an AI tutor that teaches instead of giving answers. Hakawi is focused on language learning through the teaching of subject matter. This is a labor of love, I hope it helps your children as much as it helped mine.

What Families Say
“
I'm a Muslim homeschooler who wants my children to learn Arabic, but I don't speak Arabic. Now I'm able to have them do Islamic Studies completely in Arabic, which really makes so much more sense.

This is so much fun. I'm starting to understand what they're saying in class. Thank you Hakawi!

I can see the results immediately. My kids dread going to school less and I can see them picking up words here and there. It really helps to build their confidence in class.

Questions
Hakawi is an AI Arabic tutor that never runs out of patience. Snap a photo of tonight's textbook page -- or bring a Qur'an, hadith, or classical-text passage -- and Hakawi reads it aloud, translates it into English, and quizzes you on it with guiding hints instead of handing over answers.

No. Hakawi asks before it tells -- it paces itself to what your child already knows and walks them through the passage, rather than handing over the finished answer for them to copy down.
Any subject. Hakawi isn't a fixed curriculum -- it teaches from whatever page your child is actually studying, whether that's math, science, Islamic studies, or anything else taught in Arabic.
